Calhoun County Sheriff Monthly Active Report

Calhoun County, AL – The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department has released its monthly activity reports for November 2023, providing a comprehensive overview of law enforcement operations, jail activities, and pistol permit statistics.

Law Enforcement Operations:
In the realm of law enforcement operations, the department received 574 warrants in November, serving 349. The year-to-date (YTD) totals indicate a significant workload, with 6,766 warrants received and 3,818 served. Additionally, 804 civil papers were received, and 488 were served in November, contributing to the YTD figures of 9,372 received and 5,255 served. The department responded to 858 calls for service during the month.

Jail Operations:
In terms of jail operations, 387 inmates were booked into the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department in November, while 379 were booked out. The average inmate population for the month stood at 348.

Pistol Permits:
The Sheriff’s Department also provided insights into pistol permit activities, revealing that a total of 5,613 permits were issued year-to-date. However, 35 permits were denied, and 174 were revoked during the same period.

These statistics, compiled by the Sheriff’s Department, offer a snapshot of the agency’s multifaceted responsibilities and its commitment to maintaining public safety.
