Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office Professional PCA Rodeo Returning to Choccolocco Park in April

CALHOUN COUNTY SHERIFF'S RODEO

Calhoun County, AL — The excitement of rodeo competition will return to Choccolocco Park this spring as the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office hosts the 2nd Annual Professional Cowboy Association Rodeo on April 17–18, 2026.

The two-day event will feature a range of rodeo competitions and family-friendly entertainment, offering activities for attendees of all ages. In addition to traditional rodeo events, families can enjoy attractions such as face painting, pony rides, and other activities designed especially for children.

The event will be facilitated by 3R Rodeo Company, a professional rodeo stock contractor based in Jemison. Known for producing family-oriented rodeo events, the company will bring the rodeo to Calhoun County on behalf of the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Foundation.

The foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that supports community engagement initiatives connected to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office. Programs supported by the foundation include bike patrols along the Chief Ladiga Trail and outreach efforts that allow deputies to work directly with students in local classrooms.

Sheriff Falon Hurst said the event reflects the sheriff’s office’s commitment to community connection beyond traditional law enforcement duties.

“The sheriff’s office isn’t just about catching the bad guys,” Hurst said. “It’s about encouraging and supporting our communities and our families in a positive way. It’s that point of service where every man and woman who wears our uniform switches their badges for their hearts because we are, as individuals, part of the fabric that makes up this county just like everyone else. When we have an opportunity to bring us all together with a spirit of family and fun, and use that to increase our abilities to make the lives of our neighbors better, that is a situation if bypassed would be irresponsible.”

Organizers say the rodeo continues to welcome sponsors, vendors, and contributors interested in supporting the event and the foundation’s community programs.

The rodeo will take place at Choccolocco Park, located at 954 Leon Smith Parkway in Oxford.
