Jacksonville, AL — Jacksonville Parks & Recreation is inviting young entrepreneurs to participate in the upcoming Kiddos Fair and Market, a community event designed to give children and teens an opportunity to create, sell, and learn about running their own small businesses.
The event will take place Saturday, March 21 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Jacksonville Community Center, located at 501 Alexandria Road SW in Jacksonville.
The Kiddos Fair and Market is open to vendors ages 5 through 18 who produce and sell their own goods. Participants may offer a variety of items including baked goods, handmade crafts, jewelry, produce, merchandise, and other creations.
Vendor setup will begin at 10:30 a.m. Each vendor space costs $10 and includes one indoor 10-by-10 space, along with one table and two chairs. A parent or guardian must remain with the child vendor throughout the event, and vendors are responsible for managing their own sales and money.
According to organizers, the goal of the event is to provide children with an opportunity to develop practical skills such as money management, entrepreneurship, and communication while also encouraging creativity and community engagement.
Vendor spaces are limited, and registration must be completed by March 19. Those interested in participating can sign up by calling Sara at 256-435-8115 or registering online at https://jacksonvilleal.recdesk.com/Community/Home.
The event is expected to bring families and community members together to support young creators and encourage early interest in business and entrepreneurship.
