Calhoun County, AL – The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating recent property crimes and is calling on the public for help. By encouraging community involvement, the Sheriff’s Office hopes to improve public safety and hold those accountable for these criminal activities.
Incident 1: Sometime on 3/10/25, a Husqvarna power saw and a tape measure were stolen from a property on Red Road 55 in Piedmont.
Incident 2: •Sometime on 3/16/25, a residence was broken into on Airport Road in Oxford. Clothing, a surge protector, makeup bag, and an air pump were stolen.
Catch of the Week: On the evening of 3/14/25, deputies responded to a burglary in progress call at a church on Hwy 21 in Jacksonville. Once on scene, deputies found the suspect, Pablo Nunez, detained by church members. Church was not having service during the incident. Prior to being detained, Nunez had fired shots inside of the church. The church members relinquished custody of Nunez to the deputies, and Nunez was transported to the county jail. Pablo Nunez was charged with Burglary 2nd and Unlawful Breaking and Entering of a Vehicle. Nunez is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
