Anniston, AL – In a heartwarming celebration of the holiday spirit, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of the Cheaha Region hosted its inaugural Christmas event on Sunday, December 15th, at the historic Kress building on Noble Street in Anniston. The event, aimed at raising funds to support CASA’s mission of advocating for abused and neglected children, proved to be a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact on the community.
More than 70 children experienced the joy of the season through festive crafts, delicious treats, and interactive story time. Adding to the excitement, beloved holiday characters—including Santa Claus, Frosty the Snowman, the Grinch, and Buddy the Elf—made special appearances, creating an enchanting atmosphere that filled the day with laughter and magic.
Laura Miller, director of CASA and organizer of the event, expressed her gratitude for the community’s overwhelming support. “The turnout was incredible, and it’s heartwarming to see so many people come together to support this cause,” Miller said. She praised the volunteers and corporate sponsors whose generosity made the event possible, emphasizing the enduring needs of vulnerable children throughout the year.
While the Christmas event brought joy to the children, it also spotlighted CASA’s critical work in advocating for the rights and well-being of at-risk children in the Cheaha Region. Miller encouraged the community to continue supporting CASA by donating or volunteering, highlighting that the need for assistance extends well beyond the holiday season.
CASA’s inaugural Christmas event not only spread holiday cheer but also strengthened the community’s commitment to helping children in need. As the organization looks forward to continuing its mission, CASA invites individuals to join in their efforts to make a difference.
