Celebrating Small Business Excellence: U.S. Chamber of Commerce Launches CO—100 Awards Program – Will a Calhoun County Business Be Recognized?

Chamber of Commerce Unveils Expanded Small Business Awards Program to Local Community

New York, NY – Small businesses are the backbone of the American economy, employing nearly half of the workforce and contributing significantly to GDP growth. In recognition of their pivotal role, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce has announced the launch of the CO—100: America’s Top 100 Small Businesses, a prestigious awards program aimed at honoring the nation’s most innovative and impactful small and mid-sized enterprises.

According to research from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, small businesses represent 43.5% of America’s GDP, yet their contributions often go unrecognized amidst economic uncertainties. The CO—100 seeks to change that narrative by spotlighting businesses that drive innovation, foster community growth, and exemplify resilience in challenging times.

“The people who comprise small businesses contribute immeasurably to our local communities and national economy. Their entrepreneurship and resilience drive innovation, create solutions, and employ our neighbors,” said Jeanette Mulvey, Vice President and Editor-in-Chief of CO— by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “In addition to serving small businesses every day through policy advocacy and valuable resources to help people start, run and grow their businesses, the U.S. Chamber is also proud to celebrate their accomplishments and inspire the next generation of America’s entrepreneurs.”

The CO—100 is not just about business success metrics; it celebrates a holistic view of entrepreneurship, encompassing ideas, challenges, community impact, company culture, and customer relationships. This exclusive list, curated by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and its award-winning digital platform CO—, identifies 100 standout businesses that excel in categories such as Growth Accelerators, Community Champions, Digital Innovators, and more.

“Our awards program is a tribute to the entrepreneurial spirit that fuels our economy and enriches our communities,” Mulvey continued. “We are dedicated to showcasing the diverse talents and achievements of America’s small business owners who inspire with their creativity and dedication.”

The CO—100 offers substantial benefits to honorees, including a one-year paid membership to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, access to top industry experts and thought leaders, exclusive networking opportunities, and national media exposure. Winners will be celebrated at an exclusive gala event on October 8 at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce headquarters in Washington, D.C. The event promises VIP experiences, engagements with business luminaries, and recognition for the top 100 small businesses that are shaping the future of entrepreneurship in America.

In addition to individual category recognition, ten businesses will each receive $2,000 and a feature article on the CO— website. One standout business will be awarded the title of “America’s Top Small Business” along with a $25,000 prize, an editorial spread in BOSS Magazine, and a dedicated episode on ASBN – America’s Small Business Network.

Small businesses with fewer than 250 employees or gross revenues under $20 million in 2022 and 2023 are eligible to apply for the CO—100. Applications, which require a $99 fee, are open through July 15, 2024. Business owners interested in showcasing their achievements and joining a prestigious network of innovators can apply online at www.co100.com.
