One of those candidates was Captain Marcus Wood of the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office. Wood has had a long career in law enforcement and worked his way up the chain of command ultimately becoming the Captain of the Patrol Division. Wood also took his love of law enforcement to a higher level when he began training new police recruits at the Northeast Alabama Law Enforcement Academy.

On December 3rd the city council voted unanimously for one candidate, Marcus Wood. The new Chief of Police will begin his journey leading the Jacksonville Police Department on December 12th. Please take a moment to welcome him to this great city.
