Oxford, AL – On Saturday, January 28th starting at 10:00 am the Oxford Public Library will be home to a Chili Cook-off for Conor the Conqueror / Benefit Ride / Veteran Homecoming Celebration for MUTT.
Conor Sparks (Grandson of Oxford Fire Chief, Gary Sparks) is fighting a battle with Tracheomalacia and Respiratory Distress. Together with the community, they are wanting to help him and his family financially as they have to take off work for ongoing trips to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham and Cincinnati OH.
The Alabama Punishers LEMC Mt Cheaha Chapter will host a Chili Cook-off at the Oxford Public Library from 10 AM to 2 PM. There will be door prizes, award for the Best Chili (voted on by the public), bounce house, and Dip the Frog dunk booth.
Vendors will be set up with their best recipes of their own homemade chili.
$20 donation gets you a wrist band for the ride/after party and a raffle ticket to each vendor for a chili sample. Those tickets will be drawn for door prizes at 1:30 PM. There will be a special appearance by “Sarge the Mega Truck”
At 2 PM they will line up and ride out making various (warming) stops around Calhoun & Talladega counties with a stop by Talladega SuperSpeedway for a group photo. Ride is open to all street legal vehicles
Ride will end back at the Library by 4 PM.
At 6 PM, they will meet up at the clubhouse located at 1011 Moore Ave. downtown Anniston for the Veteran Homecoming Party for Dusty “Mutt” Mangham. Mutt is one of the Original 4 Mt Cheaha Patch Members. He has been deployed overseas since the beginning of the year. They will celebrate with food and live music to welcome him back home!!!!
$10 donation at the door if you do not have a wristband from the Cook-off/Ride.
