Anniston, AL – The City of Anniston issued a press release asking that everyone please be aware of rising temperatures that are projected to peak towards the end of this week. In light of the forecasted weather conditions, a public cooling station at The Bridge at the Anniston First United Methodist Church (1400 Noble St, Anniston, AL 36201) will open from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM on Friday, July 21, 2023. In addition, community members should know that shelter is also available through Interfaith Ministries of Calhoun County (1431 Gurnee Ave, Anniston, AL 36201) from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Thursday, as well as at The Right Place (105 W 15th St, Anniston, AL 36201) from 1:30 PM until 4:00 PM, Monday through Thursday.
