PIEDMONT, AL — Community members are invited to gather for an afternoon of food, friendly competition, and family fun during an upcoming Chili Cookoff hosted by Mt. Cheaha Veritas Aequitas on Saturday.
The event will take place from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at 95 AL-9 in Piedmont, AL, where attendees will have the opportunity to sample a variety of homemade chili recipes and vote for their favorites.
Participants interested in competing can enter their chili for $15, while community members who simply want to taste and help select the winners can do so for $5. Organizers say the event is designed to be community-focused and family-friendly, encouraging both experienced cooks and first-time competitors to join in the fun.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top entries, with $50 for first place, $35 for second place, and $25 for third place. Winners will be announced at 5:00 PM following the public tasting and voting.
The event is being hosted by Veritas Aequitas Mt. Cheaha in partnership with Punishers Mt. Cheaha, with the site generously hosted by the Goshen Valley Regulators.
Following the cookoff, the venue will transition to an adult-only gathering beginning at 5:30 PM, when the bar opens for guests 21 and older.
Organizers say the event offers an opportunity for the community to come together, enjoy homemade chili, and support a relaxed afternoon of fellowship and friendly competition.
