ANNISTON — Anniston Aviation and the Calhoun County Blue Line Foundation will host a community kickoff party on Friday, September 12, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Anniston Regional Airport.
The event will serve as the launch for the Foundation’s 2nd Annual Chili Cookoff, scheduled for the following day. Anniston Mayor Ciara Smith will serve as the emcee, guiding the program and welcoming attendees.
The kickoff will highlight emergency response vehicles and equipment, including police helicopters, fire trucks, mobile response units, and a Survival Flight air ambulance. Attendees will be able to tour the displays and meet first responders.
Food and entertainment will be available throughout the afternoon, with hamburgers, hot dogs, and Kona Ice on hand. Raffles with multiple prizes and live music will add to the family-friendly atmosphere.
Admission to the kickoff is free, and all proceeds from food and raffle sales will benefit local law enforcement through the Calhoun County Blue Line Foundation. Organizers emphasized the event’s dual purpose: providing a fun gathering for the community and building momentum for Saturday’s chili cookoff.
