Piedmont, AL – On Tuesday, August 22, 2023 Piedmont Fire Department, Piedmont Police, and Piedmont Rescue & EMS were dispatched to an address on Greenwood Road in Piedmont for a structure fire with possible entrapment. Units arrived on scene and were informed that an elderly female was entrapped in the home. Piedmont firefighters and Piedmont Police officers made several attempts to reach the victim but were unsuccessful. After several hours of firefighting and search operations, the victim, identified as 60 year old Beth Rhodes Stone of Piedmont, was located in the home and pronounced deceased. The incident is under investigation at this time.
