ETOWAH COUNTY, AL — Logan Thomas Williams received multiple life sentences on Thursday, January 8, 2026, after being convicted of serious sexual offenses against a minor, according to court records.
During the trial, the minor victim testified about recurring sexual abuse that began when she was nine years old and continued for more than two years, according to court proceedings.
“The nature and severity of the offenses of which [Williams] was found guilty compels the Court to impose a sentence commiserate with the heinousness of the crime and in compliance with the law,” Judge Robinson stated during sentencing.
Judge Robinson emphasized the importance of child protection in his closing remarks: “The most sacred obligation that we have is to protect our children. And I hope that the Court, by issuing this sentence, demonstrates that those who prey on and abuse children in Etowah County will be punished to the maximum extent allowed by the law.”
The Etowah County District Attorney’s Office acknowledged the victim and her family, along with investigators from the Rainbow City Police Department, the James M. Barrie Center, and the Department of Human Resources for their roles in the case.
The District Attorney’s Office expressed appreciation for the sentences imposed and the court’s comments regarding the case.
