OneWorld Canine Fall Obstacle Run

Anniston, AL – Get ready for an extraordinary adventure that celebrates the unbreakable bond between humans and their furry best friends. The Mad Brit presents the “OneWorld Canine Obstacle Run,” a unique event that invites owner and dog teams to take on a challenging course with over 30 purpose-built obstacles. This exceptional experience is set to take place at the 200-acre OneWorld Pet Resort in Anniston, Alabama, within the McClellan area, on Saturday, October 21, 2023.

This exhilarating event is designed for owner/dog teams who will tackle an impressive array of more than 30 obstacles that are strategically placed on a course featuring the most demanding terrains, including natural and manmade obstacles, dense woodlands, dirt, sand, and water. It’s a journey that promises to push both participants and their canine companions to their limits, strengthening their bond in the process.

The OneWorld Canine Obstacle Run welcomes various types of owners and their canines, including civilian dog owners, search and rescue dog teams, military working dog teams, and police dog teams. This event is open to challengers and thrill-seekers of all ages and experience levels, ranging from 10 years old to 100 years old.

The scoring system for this unique race is based on the course finish time, with additional time reductions based on the age of the participant and their dog. For those who prefer to run solo or as a group without a canine partner, individual entries are also accepted. Some handlers even bring two dogs, choosing to run the course twice, and there’s a Saturday 2nd Run option for those eager to double their excitement, with both runs eligible for awards.

The event will be held at OneWorld Pet Resort located at 315 Rucker Street
Anniston, Alabama. For additional information visit the website.

Participants will be grouped into various race categories, which include Youth (16 and under), Search & Rescue, Law Enforcement, Active Duty Military, Military Veteran, International, Masters (age 60+), or Individual.

The race employs handicap time adjustments to level the competitive field. Handlers can deduct 20 seconds for every year older than 21 years, while canines can deduct 1 minute for each year of age over 2 years.

For event participants, OneWorld Pet Resort offers 130 state-of-the-art kennels available for daytime and overnight use throughout the weekend, ensuring that your four-legged companions are well taken care of.

Many participants choose to camp or bring their RVs to the event area, contributing to the festival-like atmosphere.

The event kicks off with early packet pickup from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, October 20th, accompanied by live music on the nearby stage, along with a beer truck and cocktail area for those looking to relax.

Saturday features packet pickup from 7:00 AM to 12:00 noon and includes a full day of dog teams taking on the challenging course. Throughout the day, the event area is filled with vendor booths, live music, games, demonstrations, and food vendors. Saturday night brings an awards ceremony, followed by a live band, free bars, and open fires around the main stage.

On Sunday the event concludes with breakfast and fresh coffee from 8:30 AM to 10 AM, followed by a Fun Run for participants from 9 AM to 11 AM, without timing or awards.
