TALLADEGA — A faith-based workshop designed to support first responders, veterans and others affected by trauma will be held Friday, July 31, at American Legion Post 17 in Talladega.
Hosted by American Legion Post 17 in partnership with GY6 Soul & Spirit Health & Healing, the workshop will focus on understanding post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and moral injury while providing faith-based resources and practical strategies for healing and resilience.
The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with registration and check-in beginning at 8:30 a.m., at American Legion Post 17, 216 Welch Ave., Talladega, AL 35160.
According to event organizers, the workshop is intended for first responders, veterans, pastors, chaplains, friends and family members who have experienced or are supporting someone dealing with trauma, PTSD or moral injury.
Topics scheduled for the workshop include:
- Understanding PTSD and moral injury and their effects on the mind, body and spirit.
- Faith-based approaches to healing and restoration.
- Practical tools for managing stress, trauma and moral injury.
- Building support through connection with others who share similar experiences.
The workshop will also include a complimentary lunch for attendees, and continuing education units (CEUs) will be available for first responders.
