Calhoun County, AL –Farmers, producers, and agricultural professionals are invited to attend the Field Focus Agronomy Meeting on Thursday, February 5, 2026, hosted by the Alabama Cooperative Extension System in partnership with Auburn University.
The meeting will be held at the Calhoun County Farmers Federation Building, located at 1535 Pelham Road S., Jacksonville, AL, from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided for those who pre-register by February 4.
This field-focused program will feature timely research updates and practical information directly relevant to local farming operations. Topics include chicken litter nutrient release timing and phosphorus research, weed control options for pasture and grain crops, nutrient management considerations, deer repellent research and sorghum updates, and the latest cotton research findings. Presentations will be led by Extension specialists and agents with expertise in nutrient management, weed science, soil fertility, and crop production.
Producers are encouraged to attend to gain insight into current research, ask questions, and connect with Extension professionals. Pre-registration is required for lunch and can be completed by calling 256-237-1621.
