The Oxford city spokeswoman, Lorie Denton notified media that the Oxford Fire Department received a call this evening at 16:07 requiring response to a fire at Kronospan, located at 1 Kronospan Way in Eastaboga. Crews arrived on scene to heavy black smoke rising from the thermal oil processing area. OFD personnel were able to contain the fire to the area of origin with help from the safety systems in place. Kronospan employees were crucial in communicating information so that OFD personnel were aware of what safety processes were already active. This also contributed to their ability to keep the fire in check until OFD arrived on scene. No Kronospan employees were injured, however one Oxford fireman suffered minor burn injuries to his hand. Eastaboga Fire Department assisted with the call.
