Jacksonville, AL – On Thursday, February 6th at 7:30 p.m., the Foothills Piano Festival will host a special performance, “A Tribute to Liberace,” featuring Christopher-Joel Cart. The concert, held at Jacksonville State University’s Mason Hall, will offer a unique musical journey through the legendary pianist’s career.
Christopher-Joel Cart, an accomplished pianist and performer, will take the stage to showcase transcriptions of Liberace’s most iconic arrangements from throughout his career. The program will explore the musical evolution of Liberace, shedding light on the influences that shaped his style, as well as the popular trends in music during the various stages of his illustrious career.
In addition to the transcriptions, Cart will perform a selection of Liberace’s original compositions, offering a deeper understanding of the artist’s personal contributions to the world of music. Adding a personal touch to the tribute, Cart will also perform pieces inspired by Liberace’s own style, including two of the compositions he played in winning the prestigious Liberace Piano Competition in 2008.
Through this presentation, Cart aims to spark an interest in the diverse genres and joyful spirit with which Liberace captivated his audiences. “Liberace’s music was not just about the technical skill but the emotional connection he had with his listeners,” said Cart. “I hope to reflect that energy and bring a little of that magic to the stage.”
The event, sponsored by the Foothills Piano Festival, promises to be an unforgettable evening celebrating the timeless legacy of one of the world’s most beloved pianists.
