Anniston, AL – Community members have an opportunity to help brighten Valentine’s Day for patients at Children’s of Alabamathrough a free digital greeting card initiative.
Beginning today and continuing through Thursday, February 12, individuals can send Valentine’s Day greeting cards at no cost to patients who will be spending the holiday in the hospital. Cards can be selected by visiting ChildrensAL.org/valentines, where participants may choose from three food-themed card designs. Hospital staff will distribute the cards to patients on Friday, February 13.
The card drive is sponsored by Spire, which has supported Children’s of Alabama since 2017. In addition to sponsoring the initiative, Spire will match donations made during the drive, up to $5,000.
Due to infection prevention and control protocols, the hospital is unable to accept in-person gifts or donations. Restricted items include handmade cards, food or candy, stuffed animals, toys depicting violence, religious items, crocheted or knitted goods, and gently used or homemade items.
