ANNISTON, AL — The Public Library of Anniston-Calhoun County will host a Free Wills Clinic on Wednesday, October 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. in partnership with the Alabama State Bar Association Pro Bono Clinic. The event offers qualifying seniors the opportunity to receive a free legal will, as well as assistance with Power of Attorneyand Health Proxy documents if needed.
The clinic is open to low-income individuals aged 65 or older who meet the following household income limits:

2 people: $21,150

3 people: $26,650

4 people: $32,150
To participate, applicants must register online at publiclibrary.cc/wills. After registering, participants must pick up and complete required paperwork from the library’s Main Circulation Desk within seven days. The paperwork must be submitted before the appointment date, and participants will be contacted with their specific appointment time once registration is complete.
The library reminds participants to only schedule an appointment if they are able to attend, as no-shows can impact the ability to host future free legal clinics. Those unable to attend are asked to call 256-237-8501 to cancel.
The Public Library of Anniston-Calhoun County expressed appreciation for the partnership with the Alabama State Bar Association in making this service available to local seniors. The event aims to help residents protect their estates and make important end-of-life arrangements with professional legal assistance — at no cost.
