Julian Wright gave another strong effort in the post with a double-double and D’Anthony Walton led four scorers in double figures as the Valley Cubs won their eighth in a row and clinched the regular season area championship.

Wright scored 14 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and blocked three shots for the Valley Cubs. Walton led all scorers with 20 points, while Javais McGhee hada 14 and Collin Taylor 11. Kory Cargal aalso grabbed 12 rebounds.

Camare Hampton led Lincoln with 19 points and 10 rebounds.

GIRLS GAMES
RAGLAND 62, DONOHO 9:
Cadence Buchanan became the second Ragland player this year to hit the 1,000-point mark when she hit a layup midway through the first quarter and finished with 22 points. 

Buchanan needed eight points to hit the mark and nailed it in a 12-point first quarater. She scored 18 in the first half.

“The milestone Cadence reached is something few players ever accomplish,” Ragland coach Sawyer Merritt said. “Cadence is proof of whaat happens when hard work meets God-given talent. She is such a great example for younger generations and her legacy will certainly live on.”

Teammate Sammie Day-Jones reached the milestone earlier this season.
