  • Adopt Agenda – Unanimously Approved
  • Elected Official/Department Head Comments
    • Craig Waldron the Administrative Assistant for Back County Horseman wanted to thank the commission for all their hard work and support. He and his wife, Susan, are pictured with the Commissioners.  Mr. Waldron went on to note that the horse industry in Alabama is a 7.4 billion dollar industry that employees 707 million in Alabama.  
  • Adopt Minutes – Unanimously Approved
  • Old Business – None
  • New Business
    • Bid Award Resolution: Playground Equipment – Unanimously Approved
      • Awarded to Playground Solutions LLC at a rate of $18,795 per unit.   
    • Polling Place Location Change Resolution (Donoho School & 1st Presbyterian Church to Harvest Church of God) – Unanimously Approved
      • The two locations will be combined to one at 520 Golden Springs Road in Anniston.
  •  Truist Treasury Management Agreement – Unanimously Approved
  • Family Links MOU – Unanimously Approved
    • This MOUs will allow grants for the Department of Youth Services to be processed. 
  • Animal Control Contract – City of Anniston – Unanimously Approved
    • Agreement extended for the third year
  • Uniti Fiber Internet Service Order – Sheriff Department – Unanimously Approved
    • Three year contract signed for the Sheriff’s office and jail for $605 per month. 
  • Chairman Change Resolution – Unanimously Approved
    • Commissioner Lee Patterson will take over the role of Chairman on January 27, 2022. This change is due to a pre-set rotation to ensure that all districts are represented. This ends Chairwoman Henderson’s seat in this position. She was the first woman chairperson as she is currently the only woman commissioner. 
    • Commissioner Wilson congratulated Commissioner Henderson and said she was certainly the most attractive chairwoman they have ever had.  He also noted she was  a great team player. 
    • Commissioner Henderson stated it has been a pleasure and she viewed her fellow commissioners as family and said she loves them.
    • Commissioner Patterson sated that he learned that Carolyn was really the one in charge both professionally and personally and he enjoyed working with her.
  • Public Comments
    • A representative from the Agency for Substance Abuse Prevention was present to showcase their new comic book aimed at drug prevention. The comic book has been made available to all school systems. 
    • Audrey Maxwell spoke as the Tourism Director for the Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce.  She mentioned the Coffee with the Chamber event that was coming up as will as the annual meeting at the Oxford Civic Center. She noted that January and February were not huge months for tourism, but there was the upcoming Green Prix this weekend in Oxford. 
    • Commissioner Danny Spears talked more about the Green Prix event and distributed it as a soap box derby on steroids. 
    • The AG Center will also be hosting the State Youth Pig Show this Friday and Saturday. 
    • Myles Chamblee with the Calhoun County EMA gave a COVID update. There are over 1000 reported cases of COVID in the last seven day period. There are 31 patients at RMC. The cases don’t seem as severe and the symptoms do appear to be tapering off, but everyone should still follow recommended guidelines. 
    • Commissioner Spears also noted the Basketball Tournament being held at JSU this weekend.
