Gadsden State Cherokee Hosts Supply Drive for Cherokee County Children’s Advocacy Center
Gadsden State Cherokee is hosting a much-needed supply drive in support of the Cherokee County Children’s Advocacy Center, a facility dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for children who have experienced abuse or neglect. The center plays a vital role in the healing process for many children in the area.
The public is encouraged to donate items including wood puzzles, Play-Doh, teen coloring books, colored pencils, canned soft drinks, bottled water, coffee K-cups, drawstring bags, backpacks, notebooks, and journals. Donations can be dropped off at the academic building at Gadsden State Cherokee in Centre through April 30.

Honors Days Celebrate Student Achievement at Gadsden State
Gadsden State will honor its top students during its annual Honors Days events, which recognize exceptional academic accomplishments and scholarship recipients.
The Honors Day for students primarily attending the Ayers Campus will take place at 2 p.m. on April 15 in the Learning Resource Center, located in Anniston. Meanwhile, the Honors Day for students from the Gadsden campuses and Gadsden State Cherokee will be held at 2 p.m. on April 16 in the Beck Conference Center on the Wallace Drive Campus in Gadsden.
In addition to recognizing academic excellence, scholarships to four-year universities will also be awarded during the events.
Preview Day: A Final Opportunity for Prospective Students
For high school seniors and prospective students looking to explore the opportunities at Gadsden State, the college is hosting its final Preview Day of the semester on April 14 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Gadsden State Cherokee in Centre.
During Preview Day, prospective students will have the chance to take guided tours of the campus and learn more about the college’s technical, health science, and academic programs. They will also receive helpful information about admissions, financial aid, scholarships, and student life. Parents are encouraged to attend with their students to learn more about the college experience.

Phi Theta Kappa Induction Ceremony at Gadsden State
The Rho Rho Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at Gadsden State will induct new members in a special ceremony on April 16 at 5:30 p.m. in the Beck Conference Center. The event will recognize the academic achievements of students who have demonstrated excellence in their coursework.
PTK is an international honor society that recognizes the scholarly accomplishments of two-year college students. In addition to recognizing academic achievement, PTK promotes leadership, service, and fellowship among community college students.
The induction ceremony is open to the public, and all are welcome to attend in support of the new members.
