GADSDEN, AL — Gadsden State Community College and Chick-fil-A Gadsden have announced a new partnership designed to prepare individuals for success in the restaurant and hospitality industry. The initiative, offered through Gadsden State’s Workforce Development Division, combines classroom instruction with hands-on training to provide participants with the skills needed to thrive in food service careers.
The program is open to high school students, recent graduates, and adults seeking to expand their professional opportunities. Upon completion, participants will earn an industry-recognized credential in Hospitality: Food & Beverage.
The curriculum takes a multi-faceted approach, blending asynchronous video learning, in-person instruction, and practical training in areas such as food safety, customer service, leadership, and professional development. The program also aims to reduce barriers to entry for those interested in pursuing food service careers.
“This partnership is a powerful example of how industry and education can work together to prepare a skilled, professional workforce,” said Baisha Woody, Director of Skills Training at Gadsden State.
Tammy Stephens, Operations and Training Lead at Chick-fil-A Gadsden, added, “Chick-fil-A Gadsden is committed to developing leaders. We are proud to partner with Gadsden State to offer training that not only teaches essential restaurant operations but also builds character and confidence.”
This collaboration highlights both the value of workforce education and Chick-fil-A’s leadership development platform, while creating a pathway for up-skilling and career advancement in the hospitality industry.
