GADSDEN, AL – The Gadsden State Police/Public Safety Department has received funding from Etowah County Commissioner Craig Inzer Jr. and the County Commission to purchase bulletproof vests and body cameras for its officers.
The department emphasized that these resources will enhance officer safety and accountability, benefiting the communities served across Etowah, Calhoun, and Cherokee Counties.
Chief Jay Freeman expressed gratitude for the support, stating, “Providing our officers with the tools they need to stay safe and effectively serve our communities is invaluable. This investment in protective equipment ensures that our team can operate with greater confidence and accountability.”
Additionally, the department acknowledged Dr. Kathy Murphy for her ongoing efforts in improving safety across Gadsden State campuses.
The funding aims to strengthen law enforcement capabilities while promoting public safety throughout the region.
