Gadsden State to Host Transfer Fairs in October

Gadsden State to host annual Transfer Fairs

Gadsden, AL – Gadsden State Community College’s Advising and Retention Center (ARC) will host two Transfer Fairs this month to help students explore opportunities to continue their education after earning their associate degree.

The first fair will take place from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, in Allen Hall on the Wallace Drive Campus, followed by a second event from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, at the Cheaha Center on the Ayers Campus.

“October is a momentous month for students interested in transferring to a four-year college or university after completing a degree at Gadsden State,” said Dr. Jeremy Williams, director of the ARC. “The fairs offer students a valuable opportunity to connect with transfer colleges. Our department helps students bridge the gap between general academic courses completed at Gadsden State and opportunities to further their education in their preferred program of study.”

Williams noted that the event is open not only to students in traditional academic programs but also to those who have completed technical or health science programs and wish to pursue an additional degree.

He added that planning ahead is key to a successful transfer. “Preparing an educational career path an entire academic year in advance guarantees students stay on track at Gadsden State before transferring credit hours. It also opens an opportunity to become eligible for transfer scholarships.”

Representatives from more than 20 colleges and universities will be available to meet with students, providing information about admissions, scholarships, financial aid, and housing. Some institutions will also offer free application opportunities during the event.

Students can learn more or RSVP by contacting the Advising and Retention Center at 256-549-8271 or ARC@gadsdenstate.edu. Additional details are available at gadsdenstate.edu/ARC.
