Montgomery, AL – On Wednesday, Governor Kay Ivey welcomed 21 Trooper Trainees, set to graduate from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA)’s Training Center, to the Alabama Governor’s Mansion. The event celebrated the trainees’ accomplishments ahead of their official graduation ceremony scheduled for Thursday.
Governor Ivey greeted the group on the steps of the Governor’s Mansion, offering words of gratitude and encouragement. She later hosted a reception in the mansion courtyard to honor their achievements.
“I was honored to host and meet with our 21 trooper graduates today,” said Governor Ivey. “Public safety is paramount in Alabama, and these men and women will play an important role in keeping our state safe. I shared that if they keep working hard and do their job well, then I know they will surely make Alabama proud.”
The governor closed her remarks by assuring the graduates of her support as they embark on their new roles.
The 21 Trooper Trainees officially graduated on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 11:30 a.m., during a ceremony at the ALEA Training Center on the Wallace State Community College campus in Selma. Over the past 10 weeks, the trainees completed rigorous training to prepare for their duties.
Of the graduating class, 20 will join ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division, while one will serve in the Marine Patrol Division. This marks the second trooper class of 2024, with the first graduating 25 troopers earlier this year.
Governor Ivey’s reception underscored the state’s commitment to supporting law enforcement as they uphold safety and security across Alabama.
