It is BASKETBALL season! If your son are daughter loves basketball now is the time to register at the Jacksonville Community Center.

To launch the registration season the Jacksonville Parks and Recreation Department (PARD) held a basketball skills clinic hosted by the Golden Eagles boys and girls basketball team and was led by the Golden Eagles Coaches. Coach Cordell Hunt shared his excitement at having this opportunity to work with the younger kids of the community. Coach Hunt said that the same basic skills that are learned to play basketball in 3rd and 4th grade will also be needed at the college and professional level. Coach Hunt wants to the kids to learn skills that they can then take home and practice and encourages all his players to work toward positive goals and to build not only basketball skills, but team building, leadership skills, and so much more.

The leaders at PARD share the same goals for the children of our community and this partnership is a great way for the adults, high school students, and young kids to all learn and grow together. Today’s youth are going to, one day, be the leaders of the City of Jacksonville.
