Jacksonville Girls Advance To Northeast Regional Behind Nicholson’s 32-Point Performance

Nicholson pours in 32 points, and fifth-ranked Jacksonville girls’ stave off No. 6 Ramsay’s comeback to advance to Northeast Regional.

JACKSONVILLE — Neveah Nicholson poured in 32 points, including eight 3-pointers, and the fifth-ranked Jacksonville girls held off No. 6 Ramsay’s comeback to win their subregional game 63-52.

The Golden Eagle (27-4) advanced to next week’s Northeast Regional to face John Carroll Catholic, which beat Springville 74-40 Friday.

Jacksonville will open regional play Feb. 19 at either 9 a.m. or noon at Pete Mathews Coliseum.
