It is that time again.   Show of your dog as the biggest, cutest, most talented, sweetest, smartest, or scariest.  The Jacksonville Parks and Recreation along with Rockin P Rescue will hold the Bark in Park event at Germania Springs on October 27th at 2:00 pm. The goal is to bring in supplies for local rescue dogs and celebrate Jacksonville’s canine community.  While this event has been held by PARD for almost 10 years, this is only the second time PARD has moved it to October.  This change was made to be considerate to the needs and comfort of both the two legged and four legged attendees.

This event will be held at the Germania Springs Dog Park, which is located on the North side of Hwy 21. All are invited regardless of whether they have a dog or simply want to join in this family friendly fun day.The entrance fee to attend is either a can of dog food, a bag of treats, a toy, or bedding.  All food will be donated to Jacksonville’s own Rockin P Rescue. For twenty years Rockin P Rescue has been working in Jacksonville to save the lives of many dogs.

Just like last year each dog may enter up to three events. A few of the events available will be largest dog, smallest dog, most beautiful, most handsome, scariest costume, best costume, best trick, and more; the judges for the events will be from Rockin P Rescue.  All winners will receive certificates or ribbons.  After the contests are over please feel free to stay and enjoy the doggie park on your own as well.

Registration will begin at 1:30 pm and there will also be an information booth provided by Rockin P Rescue. For more information please feel free to contact Jacksonville PARD at 256-435-8115.  For information on Rockin P Rescue please visit www.rockinprescue.org or call 256-282.9304.
