Jacksonville State’s Offensive Line Shines as Gamecocks Prepare for Liberty Showdown

Jax State football

Jacksonville, AL –  Head Coach Rich Rodriguez shared his thoughts on Jacksonville State’s recent performance in a press conference, commending the Gamecocks’ offensive line for their role in the team’s three-game streak of 300+ rushing yards. With improvements upfront, Jacksonville State’s rushing game has thrived, especially with contributions from quarterback Tyler Huff and running back Trey, both key players in Rodriguez’s offensive system.

Rodriguez praised his offensive line, noting the consistency shown in their most recent game, where the team rushed for 407 yards. “Anytime you can rush for whatever we did, 407 yards, they’re doing something pretty good up front,” Rodriguez said. He highlighted the group effort, acknowledging the impact of perimeter blocking by tight ends and receivers.

Looking forward, the Gamecocks are preparing to face Liberty, a team Rodriguez respects for its athleticism on both offense and defense. Rodriguez noted Liberty’s well-rounded skill set, describing their defense as a formidable challenge. “They won 17 or 18 in a row for a reason,” he said, expressing the importance of maintaining focus and preparing for a tough match.

With several players nursing injuries, Rodriguez hinted that Huff, though banged up, is expected to play, while the depth chart remains an active discussion among the coaching staff. The team will rely on their strong rushing offense and a growing national profile, boosted by recent midweek games that have brought increased exposure.

As the Gamecocks look to continue their winning streak, Rodriguez emphasized their goal of maintaining their position in the league standings. The Liberty game is not only a test of skill but also a battle for first place, and Rodriguez is optimistic that his team is up for the challenge.
