JSU Police Report Multiple Incidents Across Campus in February 2026

Jacksonville, AL – Jacksonville State University Police responded to a variety of incidents across campus during February 2026, according to the department’s activity log. The reported cases included offenses such as theft, harassment, domestic disputes, drug possession, criminal mischief, and other violations occurring in residence halls and campus facilities.

The activity log documents the nature of reported incidents, locations, and the current case status handled by the University Police Department.

Incidents Reported on February 27

Two incidents involving family-related offenses were reported at Sparkman Hall on February 27. One case involved domestic simple assault and remains pending under case number 022600053. Another incident involving domestic harassment was reported the same evening and was listed as closed with one arrest under case number 022600052.

Earlier that day, an incident involving criminal trespass in the third degree and minor in possession of tobacco was reported at North Village. That case, number 022600051, was closed with one arrest.

Incidents Reported on February 25

On February 25, officers responded to a report of obscene communications at Meehan Hall. The case, numbered 022600047, was listed as closed.

Later the same day, a report of theft of property in the first degree, involving property valued at more than $2,500, was reported at Pete Mathews Coliseum. That case, number 022600045, was also listed as closed.

Incidents Reported on February 23 and February 19

On February 23, criminal mischief involving damage to private property was reported at Pete Mathews Coliseum. The incident, case number 022600042, has been closed.

On February 19, a report of theft of lost property in the fourth degree was also reported at Pete Mathews Coliseum. The case, number 022600040, was closed following the investigation.

Drug and Related Offenses

Several incidents involving controlled substances and related violations were reported during the month.

On February 18, officers responded to a report involving possession of marijuana in the second degree, possession of drug paraphernalia, and minor in possession of tobacco. That case, number 022600032, was listed as closed.

On February 16, a case involving possession of drug paraphernalia was reported at North Village Hall. The incident, number 022600028, was closed.

Another drug-related incident was reported on February 13 at Angle Hall involving possession of marijuana in the second degree and possession of drug paraphernalia, second offense. That case, number 022600022, was closed.

Additional possession charges were reported on February 9 at Fitzpatrick Hall and on February 5 at Dixon Hall. Both incidents involved possession of marijuana in the second degree and minor in possession of tobacco and were listed as closed.

Another possession-related report was filed on February 1 at North Village involving possession of marijuana and minor in possession of tobacco. That case, number 022600002, was also closed.

Harassment and Communication Complaints

Harassing communications were reported on February 17 at Fitzpatrick Hall under case number 022600033. That case was closed.

Another harassment complaint involving harassment or intimidation was reported on February 9 at North Village. That case, number 022600014, remains pending.

Theft and Property Incidents

On February 10, a theft of lost property case involving property valued at less than $500 was reported at Dillon Field. That case, number 022600015, remains pending.

Another theft of property in the fourth degree was reported on February 2 at Meehan Hall. That case, number 022600005, is also listed as pending.

Domestic and Dispute-Related Incidents

Domestic violence involving criminal mischief was reported on February 8 at Sparkman Hall under case number 022600011. The case remains pending.

A domestic dispute was reported on February 6 at the Mountain Street Mobile Homes area. That case, number 022600009, was closed.

Other Reported Incidents

Criminal mischief was also reported on February 6 at TMB under case number 022600010, which remains pending.

An earlier case reported on February 12 involved simple assault at Crow Hall. That case, number 022600020, was closed.

Understanding Case Status

The case status reflects the current disposition of each report handled by the Jacksonville State University Police Department. Cases listed as closed or inactive are not currently under investigation. Cases listed as pending remain open while officers continue investigative work.
