Sylacauga, AL — Sylacauga Police Department officers are investigating a shooting that left a juvenile injured Saturday evening.
According to police, officers responded at approximately 7:48 p.m. on Saturday, December 27, to a report of a shooting in the area of Willowood Street. Upon arrival, officers found that a juvenile had sustained a gunshot wound.
The injured juvenile was transported by ambulance to Coosa Valley Medical Center and later transferred to Children’s of Alabama in Birmingham for further treatment. Police said the injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening.
The incident remains under investigation. Authorities are asking anyone with information related to the shooting to contact the Sylacauga Police Department or CrimeStoppers.
