Oxford, AL – Oxford Performing Arts Center will host legendary rock band KANSAS on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026, from 7 to 9 p.m. at its venue located at 100 E. Choccolocco St. in Oxford, AL. The concert is presented as part of the Coca-Cola Concert Series.
With a career spanning more than five decades, KANSAS is widely recognized as one of America’s most enduring classic rock bands. Originating as a garage band in Topeka, Kansas, the group released its debut album in 1974 after being discovered by music executive Wally Gold. Since then, the band has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide.
KANSAS’s catalog includes 16 studio albums and five live albums, along with numerous certifications, including eight gold albums, three sextuple-Platinum albums (Leftoverture, Point of Know Return, and Best of KANSAS), and multi-Platinum singles such as Carry On Wayward Son and Dust in the Wind. The band spent more than 200 weeks on the Billboard charts during the 1970s and 1980s and performed in sold-out arenas across North America, Europe, and Japan.
In 2020, KANSAS released its sixteenth studio album, The Absence of Presence, which debuted at No. 10 on Billboard’s Top Current Albums chart. The release followed 2016’s The Prelude Implicit, which debuted at No. 14 on the Billboard 200. From 2016 through 2022, the band marked the anniversaries of its breakthrough albums Leftoverture and Point of Know Return with dedicated tours, later commemorated by live album releases.
The current lineup includes vocalist and keyboardist Ronnie Platt, keyboardist and vocalist Tom Brislin, guitarists Zak Rizvi and Scott Bernard, violinist and guitarist Joe Deninzon, bassist and vocalist Dan McGowan, and original members guitarist Richard Williams and drummer Phil Ehart. Drummer Eric Holmquist is currently performing on drums while Ehart continues to recover from a major heart attack.
Beyond touring, KANSAS remains a prominent presence in popular culture, with music featured in television shows, films, video games, and live sports broadcasts. The band has also been the subject of the documentary KANSAS: Miracles Out of Nowhere.
The Jan. 29 performance adds another high-profile event to Oxford Performing Arts Center’s 2026 lineup and offers audiences the opportunity to experience KANSAS’s live performance in an intimate theater setting.
