Local Store Gives and Artisans and Art Lovers A Space to Create

Local Store Provides Artistic Outlet

Jacksonville, AL – Just Handmade is nearing their one year anniversary and they are still expanding. The local store focus on 100% handmade items created by local artisans. The products showcased are varied from handcrafted wood items, blown glass, jewelry, canvas paintings, toys, clothing, seasonal decorations, candles, and coming soon dog treats and even BBQ sauce. While this may seem like enough variety owner, Pam Beaudry, is offering even more; she has expanded her art classes. Each class is hosted by a local artisan and supplies are provided. All the classes require pre-regristration through their facebook page, a phone reservation, or a visit to the store. A few of the classes are seasonal such as a Pumpkin Art Glass Class, Pumpkin Resin Pour Cass, Mini Pumpkin Jar Class, and a Mini Embroidery Hat Class. There are also classes provided year round such as a Geode Crushed Glass Class, Paintology 101 Paint Class, Basket Weaving, a weekly themed Lego class, and a Pottery Class. Mrs. Beaudry also have a few ideas for other classes such as a ladies night out painting class.  While classes are scheduled Just Handmade also offers private party classes for those looking of for a unique experience with a large group of friends and/or family.

Just Handmade is not your typical store and inventory can change as new artisans bring items in. One thing you can expect is that nothing is mass produced and your won’t find these items at your typical chain store. Shopping here also supports the thriving art community in Jacksonville and the surrounding areas. If you are on the square to grab some coffee at Red Bird or grabbing a lunchtime taco at Heirloom don’t forget to make a stop at Just Handmade located off the square at 109 Ladiga Street SE, Jacksonville.
