TALLADEGA COUNTY, AL — A Munford man was arrested following a three-vehicle crash that left one person injured Monday, Sept. 14, in Talladega County.
The crash occurred at approximately 7 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 78 and Wills Farm Road, about four miles east of the Lincoln city limits, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
ALEA said a 1995 GMC Sierra 1500 pickup driven by Joseph T. Newborn Jr., 31, of Munford, was struck by a 2015 Lexus IS250C driven by Shedric C. Long, 34, of Anniston. Following the initial collision, the GMC struck a 2015 Lexus IS250 driven by Jamey D.W. Smith, 38, of Lincoln.
Jerrica N. Rowland, 34, of Talladega, a passenger in the Lexus IS250C involved in the initial collision, was injured and transported to Regional Medical Center in Anniston for treatment.
According to ALEA, Newborn attempted to leave the scene following the crash but was quickly apprehended and taken into custody. He was charged with felony leaving the scene of an accident and booked into the Talladega County Jail on a $7,500 bond.
No additional information was immediately available.
Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate the crash.
