MUNFORD, AL — The Munford community will celebrate Independence Day on Saturday, July 4, with a full day of patriotic activities, including a morning car show and the town’s first annual Fourth of July parade.
Hosted by Choccolocco Car Show & Cruise-In, the festivities begin with the Munford Freedom Fest Car Show at the Munford Walking Track, located at 50 Railroad Street.
Registration opens at 8 a.m., judging begins at 9 a.m., and awards are scheduled to be presented at 11 a.m. The event requires a $20 registration fee for participants.
Awards will be presented in several categories, including:
- Best in Class
- Late Model Car & Truck
- Classic Car & Truck
- Tractor
- Lawn Mower
- Farthest Traveled
- Mayor’s Choice Award
Organizers encourage participants to bring cars, trucks, tractors, lawn mowers, classic vehicles, custom builds, and patriotic-themed rides.
Following the car show, the community is invited to participate in Munford’s 1st Annual Fourth of July Parade.
Staging for the parade begins at 11 a.m. at Munford Baptist Church, located at 326 First Avenue North, with the parade stepping off at noon.
According to organizers, all family-friendly vehicles are welcome to participate, including cars, trucks, classics, tractors, lawn mowers, and patriotic entries.
Donations collected during the parade will benefit Munford Veterans Park.
Organizers say the goal of the celebration is to bring the community together to honor Independence Day through a hometown parade, community pride, and patriotic activities.
