Municipal Election Day Set for August 26 in Calhoun County

Municipal Elections

Voters across Calhoun County will head to the polls on Tuesday, August 26, to cast their ballots in upcoming municipal elections. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in all participating cities, including Anniston, Jacksonville, Piedmont, Ohatchee, Hobson City, Weaver, and Oxford.

A variety of races will appear on ballots, including mayoral contests, city council seats, and school board positions. Candidates range from incumbents seeking reelection to newcomers entering the political arena.

All candidates have been invited to submit up to 500 words detailing their platforms or reasons for running. These responses are due by July 15 and will be published on the same date.

Voters are encouraged to review the candidates and prepare ahead of Election Day.
