On December 4, 2021, at approximately 1:00 pm, the Anniston Police Department received a 911 call of a possible shooting in the area of the 900 block of Woodland Court. Officers and Investigators of the Anniston Police Department responded to the area and located a gunshot victim. When they arrived, they found a male, Christum D. Trammell, 33, of Anniston, on the roadway suffering from a gunshot injury.
Anniston Fire Department and EMS responded and treated the victim and later transported to NEARMC, but he succumbed to his injuries.
Chief Nick Bowles advised that the suspect and the victim knew each other and that this was not a random crime. The community should be aware that Lawson is still on the run and may be armed and dangerous.
Keaton F Lawson, 22, of Anniston is wanted in connection to the murder. There is currently an active manhunt underway for Lawson and anyone with information should call the Anniston Police Department at 256-240-4000 or Inv. Trammell at 808-436-3511.
