Ohatchee Residents Involved in Neely Henry Lake Boating Incident

Marine-Related Incident -- Neely Henry Lake

Ohatchee, AL – A single-vessel boating incident on Neely Henry Lake in Ohatchee, within Calhoun County, Friday evening, August 29, resulted in injuries to three juveniles.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Marine Patrol Division, the incident occurred at approximately 5:15 p.m. Authorities reported that Anthony W. Musselman, 65, of Ohatchee, was operating a pontoon boat and towing the juveniles on an inflatable when the inflatable collided with a nearby pier.

The three juveniles, identified as a 13-year-old and two 14-year-olds, sustained injuries and were transported to local hospitals for treatment.

No additional information has been released at this time, as ALEA Marine Patrol Troopers continue their investigation into the incident.
