OXFORD, AL — The Oxford Performing Arts Center (OPAC) officially unveiled its 2026-27 season on Friday, June 12, revealing what venue officials described as the largest season in the center’s history.
The announcement was made during a packed Season Reveal event that featured an entertaining opening presentation led by OPAC Executive Director John Longshore. Longshore emerged from a stage trunk as part of a production showcasing the venue’s technical crew and offering attendees a behind-the-scenes look at how performances come to life on the OPAC stage.
The upcoming season will feature 66 performances spanning Broadway productions, legendary musical artists, tribute acts, family entertainment, classical music, country music, and local talent showcases.
Among the season’s headliners are legendary performers Dionne Warwick, Smokey Robinson, Wynonna Judd, Night Ranger, and The Gatlin Brothers.
Broadway offerings include Mrs. Doubtfire: The Broadway National Tour, The Who’s Tommy: The Broadway National Tour, and A Beautiful Noise: The Broadway National Tour.
Additional performances throughout the season include Billy Bob Thornton and The Boxmasters, Straight No Chaser, Drake White, Melissa Etheridge, Lonestar, Jersey Boys, Jefferson Starship, BlackHawk, Amy Grant, Old Crow Medicine Show, Bill Engvall, Grand Funk Railroad, Mickey Dolenz, Peter Noone, Clay Walker, Jim Messina, Travis Tritt, Home Free, The Isaacs, Corey Smith, Del McCoury Band, Dailey & Vincent, and many others.
Family-friendly programming will feature Lightwire Theater’s “Tortoise and the Hare,” Puppy Pals, Bill Blagg Family Magic, The Colorful Hat Circus, and “Nutcracker! Magical Christmas Ballet.”
Tribute and specialty performances include Ramble Tamble: The CCR Experience, Journey from the Heart, Hotel California, CeCe Teneal’s Divas of Soul, American Pop, and Legends and Lore with the Atlanta Pops.
Actor Richard Thomas will make his Oxford debut performing “Mark Twain Tonight,” the celebrated one-man show originally made famous by actor Hal Holbrook.
The popular 10×10 Series will also return to the OPAC Studio, continuing its focus on local artists while maintaining ticket prices capped at $10.
Oxford Mayor Alton Craft praised the venue and its impact on the community.
“It is always an honor as mayor when I hear people who visit here say they felt like they were wanted here,” Craft said.
Series subscriber renewals begin June 15, new subscriber sales begin June 29, and individual ticket sales begin July 7.
