Oxford, AL – The Oxford City Council met Tuesday, June 10, 2025, and unanimously approved all items on the agenda, including several zoning changes, equipment purchases, and an election resolution.
Three ordinances were passed to rezone properties across the city. Ordinance No. 2025-28 rezoned the property at 230 Ross Street from Residential 1 District (R-1) to Institutional District (INST). Ordinance No. 2025-29 approved a similar zoning change for a parcel on McKibbon Street (PIN68634). Ordinance No. 2025-30 rezoned property on Friendship Road (PIN13233) from Area Shopping Center District (ASC) to Light Manufacturing District (M-1).
In addition, the council passed Resolution No. 2025-41 to approve the purchase of a compact trailer for $74,153.37. Resolution No. 2025-42 accepted the bid from Climate Control, LLC for HVAC improvements at the Oxford Civic Center, totaling $192,000.
The consent agenda, also approved unanimously, included Resolution No. 2025-40, appointing the City Clerk to perform all election-related duties for the upcoming municipal election on August 26, 2025, and any runoff election on September 23, 2025.
The next regular Oxford City Council meeting is scheduled for June 24, 2025.
