Oxford, AL – A community event aimed at introducing young people to outdoor activities and survival skills is set to take place at Oxford Lake next month.
The “Gift of Nature” event, hosted through a partnership between the Agency for Substance Abuse Prevention (ASAP) and Coosa Riverkeeper, will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Oxford Lake, located at 401 McCullars Lane in Oxford, AL.
According to event organizers, the program is designed to give youth an opportunity to learn about fishing and outdoor survival skills in an educational and hands-on environment. Breakfast will also be provided for attendees.
The event is part of ongoing community outreach efforts focused on youth engagement and healthy recreational activities. Organizers encourage families and community members to participate and learn more about outdoor conservation and nature-based skills.
