Oxford Police Department Arrests Suspect for Terrorist Threat Following Bomb Scare at Oxford High School

Oxford, AL – This afternoon, the Oxford Police Department (OXPD) investigations division, in collaboration with multiple agencies, executed a search warrant on Chestnut Avenue in Anniston, leading to the arrest of Nathan Lashad Woods. Woods has been charged with Making a Terrorist Threat in the First Degree, a Class C Felony.

The arrest is connected to a bomb threat made against Oxford High School earlier in the day. The operation was carried out with support from OXPD’s Emergency Services Unit, aviation support, the United States Secret Service (USSS), and the East Metro Area Crime Center.

Woods is currently in custody with a bond set at $30,000 cash. In a statement, Chief Bill Partridge emphasized the department’s commitment to safety:
“We want to assure our community that we take all threats seriously and are committed to ensuring the safety and security of our children and schools. If you do this in Oxford, we will use every resource to hunt you down and bring you to justice.”

The department expressed gratitude to the partnering agencies and the community for their vigilance and support in resolving this incident.
