Oxford Welcomes Quick Trip as Part of Exit 185 Redevelopment

Oxford, AL – The City of Oxford has announced the opening of its newest business, Quick Trip, located at 1017 Quintard Drive. The 24-hour facility provides fuel, food, truck stop amenities, and everyday essentials, marking another step in the successful redevelopment of the Exit 185 corridor.

Quick Trip joins Culver’s, which opened in 2023, as part of a long-term economic development initiative led by the Oxford City Council. The effort, launched in 2022, sought to transform the area surrounding Interstate 20’s Exit 185 into a hub for retail, dining, and community activity. The redevelopment also connects visitors to nearby attractions such as the Oxford Civic Center and Oxford Lake, both central to the city’s growing parks and recreation department.

In January 2022, the Oxford City Council approved an economic development agreement with three corporate developers to support site preparation for new retail construction. The agreement included $450,000 in reimbursements from the city to cover demolition costs of vacant and dilapidated structures. Demolition began in April 2022 and was completed by that summer.

The introduction of new businesses has been highlighted as a key driver for Oxford’s continued economic growth.

“The city council and I remain proactive in creating a business-friendly environment for the city of Oxford,” said Mayor Alton Craft. “With the revitalization of the Exit 185 site, Oxford is now surrounded by a wide variety of retail opportunities for both residents and visitors. This provides an economic boost to the city, helping Oxford to maintain and improve the high quality of services it now provides for our citizens.”

The Exit 185 redevelopment is part of a broader effort to expand retail opportunities across the city, including the Oxford Exchange and Quintard Mall, strengthening Oxford’s position as a regional destination for commerce and recreation.
