The festival, held on the first Saturday in October, enjoyed perfect fall weather, with mild temperatures and a light breeze setting the tone for a lively and enjoyable event.
Festivities began early with the opening ceremonies at 7:30 a.m., which included the Presentation of Colors, a stirring rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner by Alice Martin, an opening prayer from Chris Spurlin, and a heartfelt dedication by Mayor Alton Craft, who welcomed attendees and expressed gratitude for the community’s continued support of the event. From there, the energy of the day never waned as Main Street filled with families, friends, and visitors exploring vendor booths and enjoying live performances.
The Sunny King Automotive Group Music Stage provided a steady stream of entertainment throughout the day, beginning with Hwy 180 Band and continuing with performances from Wes Singleton, Dwight Smith, Alice Martin & Debbie Calhoun, FM Revival, Chris Voice, Rebecca Gilbert, and Hutch Edward Project. Each act drew enthusiastic applause as the crowd gathered to listen, dance, and sing along, embodying the joyful spirit that defines OxfordFest.
Dozens of arts and crafts vendors lined Main Street, offering an impressive selection of handmade goods, local art, jewelry, home décor, and unique gifts. Food vendors kept the delicious smells of Southern cooking in the air, serving everything from barbecue and burgers to funnel cakes and roasted peanuts. The variety of offerings ensured there was something for everyone, making it easy to spend the entire day enjoying the sights and sounds of the festival.
Throughout the event, attendees also took part in hourly prize drawings, which kept excitement levels high as the day went on. The festivities concluded with the much-anticipated Grand Prize Drawings, where one lucky winner received the festival’s $1,000 cash prize. Cheers erupted as the crowd celebrated another successful year for Oxford’s most beloved fall gathering.
