PIEDMONT, AL — The Piedmont Public Library will host a special Summer Reading Program event on Friday, June 12, featuring entertainer Tommy Johns and his interactive variety show, “Readapalooza.”
The event is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the Piedmont Public Library, located at 106 N. Main Street in Piedmont. The program is open to the public, and attendance is available to anyone, whether or not they use Facebook.
According to event organizers, “Readapalooza” combines magic, comedy, audience participation, games, and puppet performances designed to encourage children and families to stay engaged with reading throughout the summer months.
The show will feature Tommy Johns alongside one of his puppet characters, Roosevelt Rat, in a performance aimed at making reading both entertaining and accessible for young audiences. Organizers say attendees can expect surprises, laughs, and interactive moments throughout the presentation.
The event is part of the library’s ongoing Summer Reading Program, which offers activities and educational opportunities to promote literacy and lifelong learning during the summer break.
Community members interested in attending are encouraged to arrive before the 11 a.m. start time.
