ANNISTON, AL — The Public Library of Anniston-Calhoun County will host a community nutrition education event on May 19 at 2 p.m. featuring Registered Dietitian Donnie DiValentin.
The program, titled “Nutrition Basics: Fact vs. Hype,” will take place at the library located at 108 E. 10th St. in Anniston.
According to event information, the session will focus on helping attendees better understand nutrition topics such as macronutrients, food label reading, and dietary strategies aimed at reducing health risks associated with chronic illnesses.
DiValentin brings more than 20 years of experience in both clinical and outpatient nutrition settings. His background includes working with geriatric patients as well as individuals managing diabetes, cancer, and weight loss goals.
Organizers say the presentation is designed to help participants separate nutrition misinformation from evidence-based guidance and make more informed food choices in everyday life.
The event is open to the public, including both Facebook users and non-users, according to the event listing.
