Anniston, AL – RMC Health System announced Tuesday that it will officially become Baptist Health Calhoun Hospital effective Oct. 1, 2026, marking the next phase of its integration into the Baptist Health network under Orlando Health following the acquisition announced in April 2026.
According to hospital officials, the new name reflects the organization’s transition into the Baptist Health network while maintaining its longstanding connection to Calhoun County.
“The new name represents more than a sign on the building; it reflects our shared vision for the future of healthcare in this community,” said Keith Parrott, president and CEO of RMC Health System. “We are proud to join the strong foundation established by Baptist Health here in Alabama while investing in the people, programs, and services that will help meet our community’s health care needs for generations to come.”
Hospital leaders said the name change is part of a broader integration process intended to align the hospital with the Baptist Health brand and create a more consistent patient experience throughout the health system.
Officials said a comprehensive market study was conducted, and community members across the region were asked to provide input during the naming process. The selected name was chosen to recognize RMC’s history in Calhoun County while reflecting its future as part of the Baptist Health and Orlando Health organizations. New exterior signage is expected to be installed when the name officially takes effect on Oct. 1.

Based in Anniston, RMC serves patients throughout Northeast Alabama and employs more than 1,800 team members, along with more than 300 volunteers and over 200 physicians representing a wide range of specialties. The hospital has received numerous recognitions, including accreditation from the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer, Blue Distinction Center+ designation for orthopedic and maternity care from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama, Alabama’s first Baby-Friendly birthing facility designation, and recognition as an Age-Friendly Health System.
Orlando Health is a private, not-for-profit healthcare system serving Florida, Alabama and Puerto Rico through a network of hospitals, physician practices, urgent care centers and other healthcare services. The organization reported nearly $2 billion in community impact during fiscal year 2024 through community benefit programs, capital investments and other initiatives.
