Ohatchee, AL – The Ohatchee Police Department is investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision that claimed the life of an Anniston woman early Tuesday morning.
According to the Ohatchee Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 5:25 a.m. on July 14 to a crash on Alabama Highway 77 at Margie Lane in Ohatchee.
Authorities said the collision involved a head-on crash between a 2017 Kia Forte and an 18-wheel tractor-trailer.
The driver of the Kia, identified as Cia Carmeshia Williams, 32, of Anniston, was pronounced dead at the scene by Calhoun County Coroner Pat Brown.
The driver of the tractor-trailer sustained injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
In a statement, the Ohatchee Police Department extended its condolences to Williams’ family, friends, and all those affected by the crash, asking the community to keep them in their thoughts during this difficult time.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
